Mel Keiser – The Life and Deaths of The Mels
I worked with Mel Keiser to produce an accurate, 3d printed replica of her own skeleton for her artwork, The Life and Death of The Mels.
A generic female skeleton was reformed to match hers exactly, using surface landmarks from a full-body scan done at PLE and medical x-rays to determine proportions and exact dimensions.
The final files were printed at Northwestern University Segal Design Institute’s Ford Rapid Prototyping Lab at 1:1 in FDM.
